Considering taking CeMAP courses?

Are you considering taking CeMAP courses to retrain for a new career? To become a recognised mortgage advisor you will need to study CeMAP courses to be able successfully sit the exams required to obtain the CeMAP qualification. There are a large variety of CeMAP courses available and many CeMAP course providers. This article will give you some information to keep in mind when choosing which CeMAP courses and course providers are right for you.

Firstly we will discuss the basics of CeMAP courses; the course is divided into 3 individual parts which is why many people refer to them as courses rather than a single course. The three individual areas of study covered are: UK Financial Regulation, Mortgages and Assessment of Mortgage Advice Knowledge. Each of these areas of study cover the information you will need to know in order to sit the exams required to be passed by the Financial Services Agency to become a fully recognised mortgage advisor.  You must pass the exams with a minimum pass score of 70%, although if you do not achieve the required pass mark you can re-sit the exam.

Quality CeMAP courses will give you not only the knowledge to pass the exams but will train you to a standard at which you will be confident in your knowledge and ability to perform at a high professional standard in your new career as a mortgage advisor.  (One word of warning at this point is to be careful of which CeMAP courses you enrol in as some courses are designed as quick refresher courses for people who are already employed in the financial industry to obtain their CeMAP qualification. If you have not worked in the industry before you will want to ensure you enrol in full comprehensive CeMAP courses that are designed for new comers to the industry.)

For those people considering a change of career, who are thinking of retraining to become a mortgage advisor it may be worth approaching potential employers even before you enrol in CeMAP courses. There is a severe shortage of CeMAP qualified personnel in the financial services industry at the present time so many employers are willing to pay for employees to undertake CeMAP courses and are even providing them with time at work during the day to study.  Even if you not able to obtain employment whilst you are studying you will have been able to meet potential employers who will see that you are committed and able to carry through your desires when you return to see them having qualified.
